Current Role
Amy Foster works with organizational leaders and their boards and staff to help them consciously choose who they want to be, how that translates into the ultimate vision of how the company can best serve its target market and define the values and related behaviors that ensures each individual’s as well as the company’s overall success. She does this by acting as a catalyst through group facilitated strategic planning, operational alignment consulting, and group coaching that enables organizations to achieve their vision, mission, objectives and goals. She is an expert in the field of Accelerated Learning, especially as it relates to developing cultures of accountability and commitment, creating high performance teams and shared leadership.
Ms. Foster is president and founder of Unbridled Performance, LLC, a change management consulting firm and marketing alliance of independent consultants who, together, become positive change catalysts, partnering with others to raise the level of consciousness of people and organizations seeking to move to a new level of participation and performance. Avid Learner works in partnership with Amy and Unbridled Performance to deliver experiential, horse-enhanced team development sessions.
Her work in the area of Organizational Evolution has been published in the Handbook of Business Strategy and has been utilized in a variety of organizations from large global businesses including GlaxoSmithKline and American Eagle Outfitters, regional entities such as the Northwest PA Workforce Investment System, to small local nonprofits such as the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy and Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild.
Ms. Foster is also the developer of a “Horse Enhanced Accelerated Learning”, a unique outdoor business simulation utilizing horses to create an accelerated learning environment where top management teams can learn the importance of and gain skills in:
- Developing a clarity of vision, mission, and goals
- Gaining commitment to action
- Opening honest communication channels
- Encouraging individual accountability and shared leadership
- Building strategic thinking capabilities and customer focus
- Allowing for creative risk taking
- Distinguishing the difference between effectiveness and efficiency
Ms. Foster’s educational background includes a B.S. in Public Relations from Syracuse University and an M.B.A. from the University of Akron. She has written a book for women home business owners and has been an instructor at both Kent State University and the University of Akron. She has been recognized as an honored professional in the Nationwide Register’s of Who’ Who in Executives and Businesses. She is certified in Spiral Dynamics, Leadership Circle 360, and as an Authentic Leadership Workshop Facilitator. Ms. Foster is also developed the Certification Process for The Serving Leader and is the lead facilitator in their “Teach-the-Teacher” Program.
